Documentation Standards
Deliverables and documentation standards
Deliverables are designed for preservation-first engagements: clear scope, documented authorization, custody continuity, and repeatable records. Exact deliverables vary by scope and sources.
Core engagement records
- Written scope & authorization summary
- Collection log (source, date/time, operator, method)
- Transfer & receipt record (media, condition, seals, handoff)
Integrity and custody continuity
- Hash values where applicable and within scope
- Storage controls and access notes
- Retention / destruction confirmation when applicable
Packaging
Deliverables are packaged for controlled transfer, with filenames and identifiers that support later review. We avoid substantive analysis in preservation-only engagements.
